Guardianship and Conservatorship

The Guardian and Conservatorship program provides resources, education, and information about guardianship and conservatorships. We support all individuals involved in these cases. We are here to protect the rights, well-being, and finances of others.

Guardianship and conservatorship play an important role in ensuring that adults and minors who cannot fully manage their own affairs receive appropriate support. This section brings together training, forms, rules, and helpful resources in one place to help you understand the process and your responsibilities.

Guardians and conservators are appointed by the court to make decisions on behalf of another person. This website provides:

  • Guidance for prospective guardians and conservators

  • Required online training

  • Contact information for local coordinators

  • Definitions of commonly used terms

  • Forms, statutes, rules, and statewide resources

Guardianship and Conservatorship Coordinators are available in each of Idaho’s judicial districts. They can answer questions about serving in these roles, direct you to resources, and help you understand the reporting process. Find Guardianship and Conservatorship Monitoring Coordinators at the bottom of the page.
