Treatment Court Coordinating Committee
The Idaho Drug Court and Mental Health Court Act (19-5606) requires the Supreme Court to establish a statewide committee to oversee Treatment Courts. The committee includes judges, court administrators, coordinators, prosecutors, public defenders, treatment providers, other state and county agencies, and representatives from the Governor’s Office, and others per Idaho Code 19-5606.
Committee Responsibilities
- Develop statewide implementation plans
- Establish eligibility, assessment, treatment, and supervision guidelines
- Provide training and technical assistance
- Design a certification and quality assurance process
- Recommend funding priorities
- Coordinate with state agencies and community partners
- Review and approve district Treatment Court plans
- Evaluate strategies and data systems
