Register Now for Pro Bono Week Legal Clinics
Pro Bono Week, Oct. 19-25, highlights the importance of providing volunteer legal services and honors attorneys who choose to do so. Idaho's legal community – including members of its state and federal Pro Bono Commission – will mark the week with a series of clinics providing public service to low-income residents.
Events are organized through the Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program. Participants generally must be low-income or at-risk individuals. Anyone interested in participating in an event should register in advance on the Idaho State Bar website.
On Tuesday, Oct. 21, IVLP will hold a statewide phone clinic focused on family law issues.
On Wednesday, Oct. 22, IVLP will hold a statewide phone clinic focused on employment issues.
On Thursday, Oct. 23, four events are scheduled:
IVLP will hold two statewide phone clinics focused on estate planning and probate issues, and on family law issues.
The Idaho State Bar Young Lawyers Section will sponsor a Wills for Heroes legal clinic to help members of the military with end-of-life planning. Please note this event will be held in-person in the Boise area.
IVLP will hold a Lawyer in the Library clinic in Meridian for low-income or at-risk people facing a civil legal matter. Again, please note this is an in-person event.
On Friday, Oct. 24, IVLP will hold an in-person estate planning clinic in the Boise area for low-income people who want help with simple wills, financial power of attorney and advanced care planning documents.
For attorneys considering pro bono service, IVLP will offer a CLE on Monday, Oct. 20, focused on family law basics.
